Bangalore Horse Race Tips

One of the major six horse racing organizations in India, the Bangalore Turf Club is located at the heart of Bangalore. Over the years, the racing schedule here has grown from just 1 racing season to two – Summer and Winter. There are around 750 to 800 horses participating in both seasons along with 50-60 trainers.

The two Bangalore Derbies are the races with the biggest prizes. Other significant horse races with high prizes include Colt Championship Stakes, Fillies Championship Stakes, Bangalore 1000 Guineas, and Maharaja’s Gold Cup.

Mumbai Horse Race Tips

Mumbai is home to the richest racing organization in the country, the Royal Western India Turf Club. It operates the Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai and the Pune Race Course in Pune which is a few hours drive from Mumbai. In a year, the club organizes around 560 races where over 1000 horses and 150 jockeys participate.

Some of the most prestigious Grade I races hosted by the club include Indian Guineas, Indian Derby, and Indian St Leger. The Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai which has oval shape and is 2400m long has been rated one of the best race tracks in Asia.

Mysore Horse Race Tips

The lush green 2000m long racing track in Mysore is operated by the Mysore Race Club. In 2000, two smaller seasons were added to the racing schedule which originally had only one – Monsoon or The Mysore Races. Each season has around 100-120 races that involve between 350-500 horses and 40-50 jockeys with ‘A’ and ‘B’ licenses.

Mysore Derby, a Grade I race held during the month of October is the highlight event of the racing calendar in Mysore. The summer and winter seasons also feature some of the prestigious races such as The Mysore Race Club Million, The Mysore City Gold Cup, and The Continual Trophy.

Hyderabad Horse Race Tips

Horse racing in Hyderabad is hosted by the Hyderabad Race Club that boasts of two racing tracks, over 200 betting windows, and grand lobbies for tote betting. Of the two racing tracks, one is used for winter and the other for the summer racing season. There can be around 6-8 races on race days and each season has around 28 racing days which are preferably on weekends.

Among the many high stakes race events held at the Hyderabad Race Club, Deccan Derby, a 2000m Grade I race, is the most important one. Nizam’s Gold Cup and the President of India Gold Cup are other prestigious horse races in Hyderabad. The race club also features Grade II races such as The Golconda Oaks, Golconda 1000 Guineas, and Golconda 2000 Guineas.

Delhi Horse Race Tips

Situated in the Teen Murti Marg area of central Delhi, the Delhi Race Club operates the green turf track for horse racing in Delhi. The two racing seasons in Delhi are the Monsoon and Winter seasons. In a calendar year which runs from August to April, the Delhi Race Club features 70-80 races, around 400 horses, and 30 licensed jockeys.

North Indian Derby, a Grade III race is the biggest horse racing event which is held during the Winter season of the Delhi Race Club. Other noteworthy events at the club include Indian 2000 Guineas, Constitution of India Plate, and the Kurukshetra Plate.

Kolkata Horse Race Tips

The Royal Calcutta Turf Club operates the 153-acre Maidan racecourse which has hosted horse races in Kolkata for over 200 years. Like most other race clubs in India, the RCTC also runs two racing seasons every year – Monsoon and Winter. The monsoon season features 18 race days spread over 4 months while the Winter season that lasts an extra month has 25 race days.

The legendary Queens Cup is held in Winter at the club and the trophy for which comes from the office of the British monarch. Moreover, the Winter season also features the Calcutta 2000 Guineas and the Calcutta 1000 Guineas races. Some of the other prominent horse races events in Kolkata include the Calcutta Derby and the Independence Cup.

Pune Horse Race Tips

The race track in Pune which is 3200m long, is the second racecourse operated by the Royal Western India Turf Club. While the Pune race track is longer than the one at Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai, it has a similar turf surface and an oval shape. The racing track is host to many significant horse races in Pune such as The Nanoli Stud Pune Derby, The Mcdowell Signature Premier Indian St.Leger, and The S.A. Poonawalla Multi-million to name a few.
