Apex Legends Global Series Year 2: Everything You Need To Know

Apex Legends is regarded as one of the biggest esports games in the world. In fact, it is considered a direct competitor to Warzone and Fortnite. EA and Respawn Entertainment are always looking for new ways to push it to the top of the ladder. Just recently, they announced the Apex Legends Global Series Year 2, which is the biggest esports event for the game. The organizers have also revealed the prize pool and more important details about the event.

The first Apex Legends Global Series was a success. Everyone was worried about how it will get received. However, things went well and everyone enjoyed the event. Now, the organizers have decided to take things to another level by increasing a bigger prize pool. In addition to this, some other major changes have been made to the event.

Apex Legends Global Series Year 2 Prize Pool

The first major change that we are seeing in this year’s version of Apex Legends Global Series is the prize pool. It has been confirmed that the Year 2 event will have a total prize pool of $5 million. This money will be divided among the top teams. Although the exact breakdown is yet to be revealed by EA, we can expect the winning team to take home a big chunk of money.

LAN Events

In addition to this, teams will compete with each other in person, something that every fan wants to see. This was also confirmed back in January by John Nelson that they have always planned for competition on LAN. We will first witness this in September and then in the ALGS Championship that will be held in July 2022.

Console Players

Judging from the fact that the organizers have introduced a bigger prize pool this time, it’s safe to say that the Apex Legends Global Series is finally catching up to bigger leagues. It won’t be long before we start seeing tournaments that are as big as the Fortnite World Cup, which featured a prize pool of $30 million. Let’s just hope that the Apex Legends Global Series Year 2 is hosted without any problems and that it further contributes to pushing Apex further above the ladder.

Another important thing about Apex Legends Global Series Year 2 is that the organizers have decided to allow console players to participate in the event, although they will need to use the PC-value aim assist settings. However, despite this, it’s still great to see that EA is letting players from all platforms compete in the tournament rather than just allowing PC players to dive into it.

On the other hand, fans are currently looking forward to Apex Legends Season 10. The next season is going to be huge since it will feature a lot of new content to the game. In addition to this, we will see Seer joining the game’s list of Legends. This new character is a tracker, just like Bloodhound. However, unlike him, Seer is more stealth-based. He uses microdrones to track the movement of his enemies and only makes a move when the area is clear.
