This month, we have been seeing major changes being made in various esports teams across the world. A few days back, we reported about SoNNekO leaving Na’Vi 2 months after rejoining the team. And now, another team has come forward with a statement that has left many fans shocked. Vikin.gg, a popular esports organization recently announced that they have decided to release their entire Dota 2 roster.
The regular season for the Dota Pro Circuit 2021 concluded recently. This also marks the beginning of the time when esports organizations start making changes to their teams. This is because the regular season allows them to see how their current team performs. During the process, we see players either joining new teams or continuing playing for their original team. However, something unexpected happened with Vikin.gg as their entire roster got dropped.
Vikin.gg Drops Its Dota 2 Roster
The announcement was made on the official Twitter account of Vikin.gg where the organization claimed that they made the “hard decision” of parting ways with their current roster, which includes Shad, BOOM, KheZu, Aramis, and their captain, Seleri. The most surprising part is that the organization has even let go of the team’s coach as well, Daniel “ImmortalFaith” Moza. At the moment, all six mentioned are free agents and are most likely open to offers.
The organization did not reveal the reason behind this tough decision. On Twitter, they only mentioned that they are proud of everything they have achieved together with this team and that they wish them nothing but the best. The team’s captain, Seleri claimed that he has had an incredible time working with his teammates, coach, and everyone else.
The team’s former captain continued to add that this isn’t the ending they wanted but he will not “forget everything” they accomplished together. At the end of his statement, he thanked everyone who supported and followed their journey, and that fans will get to see more from them in the future.
Vikin.gg entered the Dota scene in 2019 and had a good run. The best part about the team was that they continued with the same set of players they had from the start. The only change we saw was when Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann was added to the team at the start of 2020. But that had to be done considering Tobias “Tobi” Buchner left the team during the DPC season and the organization had to fill the spot. So far, the team had managed to win around 13 different tournaments. They even won the Dota Summit 13 Online and the BTS Pro Season Three. Aside from this, they placed well in various other tournaments.
At the moment, Vikin.gg is yet to talk about which players they will be picking up for their next roster. It will be exciting to see who they are going to hire next. As for the players who got dropped, considering they are some of the best Dota 2 players out there, they will most likely get picked up by other teams soon.
