The IPL 2021 auction will be held in Chennai on 18th February where 8 franchises will be bidding to fill a total of 61 slots among themselves including 22 overseas players.

The IPL player auction list features 164 Indian players, 125 overseas players, and 3 players from Associate Nations. Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav have listed themselves in the highest base price bracket of INR 2 Crore. Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Jason Roy, and Mark Wood are among the 8 overseas players who have listed the maximum base price.

17 new names were added to the auction pool on the request of the IPL franchises. Four of which are capped players, Shaun Marsh, Corey Anderson, Morne Morkel, and Jack Wildermuth. Marsh, who rose to fame in IPL during his stint with KXIP has set his base price to INR 1.5 Crore, same as Morne Morkel. Jack Wildermuth, who’s played only 2 T20 internationals for Australia has listed his base price at INR 50 Lakhs.

Khrievetso Khense, a spinner from Nagaland, who was the talk of the town after his performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, is the youngest Indian to feature in the IPL player auction list. The youngest player in the IPL auction pool, however, is the 16-year old Noor Ahmed from Afghanistan. Both Khense and Ahemd are in the lowest base price bracket of INR 20 Lakhs.

S Sreesanth, who was aiming for a return to the big stage after playing the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Kerala, is not part of the list. The former Indian fast bowler had listed his base price at INR 75 Lakhs.
